Goodbye to a Milestone Project 🛫

After almost 20 months, it’s time to say goodbye to a client I’ve had the pleasure of working with since November 2022. It all started with me coming in to offer some architecture advice before they signed off on a deal. Little did I know that what was supposed to be a short engagement turned into a full-on project that’s taken us right up to now, September 2024.

We quickly realized this project was way bigger than anyone thought, and it grew from there. Fast forward, and today the client is live with dozens of business services, supporting hundreds of thousands of partners and clients.

The client also recently mentioned in a public forum that they’ve handled over a million calls without a single outage – and they’re saving tens of thousands of dollars each month compared to what they were spending before. Even after all those calls, there’s been no downtime. That’s the kind of feedback that makes you step back and feel pretty proud of what you’ve built together.

This project is easily one of my favorites. All of the Go-lives were smooth, with barely any hiccups, which is a huge win in itself. But what made it even better were the amazing colleagues and clients I met along the way. We all worked together to make sure things were successful, and I really enjoyed getting hands-on with a lot of the work myself.

On a personal note, the bonus highlight was discovering the peaceful, beautiful city where my client is based. It's one of those places you don’t expect to fall in love with, but I’ll definitely be back to visit.

As I say my goodbyes, I feel a mix of pride and a bit of nostalgia. It’s been a great ride, and knowing the client is happy makes it all the more rewarding. Now, onto whatever’s next!
